Leadership Lesson From Lord Shiva

As per our mythology, river Ganga has been originated from Lord Shiva’s head. It is also being said that Ganga is sister of Parvathi (wife of Lord Shiva). Parvathi doesn’t like her sister sitting on her husband’s head.

As per the Vedas, Chandra Dev (the moon) on Lord Shiva’s head, has amrit (honey dew), whereas Lord Shiva swallowed the Vish (poison).

The third eye of Lord Shiva emerged fire, whereas Ganga from Lord Shiva’s head, emerged water.

Lord Shiva wears Vasuki (the king of serpents) around his neck which is enemy of Mushak (the rat) which is the wahan(vehicle) of his eldest son Lord Ganesh.

Lord Shiva’s second son Lord Karthikey’s wahan is peacock, which is the enemy of snake.

Lord Shiva’s wahan is Nandi (cow) where as his wife Parvathi’s wahan is Lion. Cow and lion can’t stay together.

Lord Shiva applies ashes (Bhabhut) on his body and his followers are ghosts and demons (bhut  preth).

From the above mentioned things, what we can see, inspite of so many differences in their nature, amrit and vish, water and fire, snake and rat, snake and peacock, cow and lion, ghost and demons, all are staying together under the leadership of Lord Shiva.

As an IFA or MFD even we deal with different kind of clients and colleagues with different nature and characteristics on daily basis.

Being an IFA or MFD, the leadership lesson we can take from Lord Shiva is that, being a leader we should have a quality of bringing everyone together and leading from the front.
